Naoko was born in Fukushima, Japan and moved to the United States in 2002. She received an MBA in Finance from Saint Joseph’s University, Philadelphia, PA. After this Naoko worked at financial services companies and a pharmaceutical company in the Philadelphia area.

Naoko became interested in painting in watercolor after she took a landscape painting class at Chester County Art Association, West Chester, PA. She attended the class for 5 years and learned “Plein Air” style watercolor painting from the same teacher, Mary Beaumont. Her enthusiasm in art grew stronger as she developed her painting skills in the class. As it turned out, painting became more than just a weekend hobby. Beautiful nature landscapes and her dearest twin tabby cats are a great inspiration in her art.

Early in 2013, she moved to Franklin, Massachusetts. She started exhibiting her watercolor paintings in various art shows of local art organizations such as Rhode Island Watercolor Society and Franklin Art Association.

After she spent 2.5 years in MA, she moved to Connecticut in October, 2015, due to her husband’s work. She is a resident of Bethel now and enjoys beautiful landscapes around her new house surrounded by woods. She is currently starting to get connected with local art organizations just like she did in PA and MA.

福島県生まれ。２００２年にアメリカに移住。ペンシルバニア州、フィラデルフィアのSaint Joseph’s UniversityにてMBA（ファイナンス専攻）を取得。その後フィラデルフィア近郊の金融会社や製薬会社に勤務。

水彩画に興味を持つようになったのはペンシルバニアのウェストチェスターにあるChester County Art Associationで風景画のクラスを受講するようになってから。風景画のクラスで戸外で描くスタイル（Plein Air) を５年間メアリー・ボウモントから学ぶ。クラスで水彩画の技術が上達していくにつれ、アートに対する熱意がどんどん高まった。そして気がつけば、絵を描くことは週末の趣味以上のものに。美しい自然の風景や飼っている双子のトラ猫が彼女のアートの大きなインスピレーション。

２０１３の初めにマサチューセッツ州のフランクリンへ引っ越す。Rhode Island Watercolor SocietyやFranklin Art Associationといった地元のアート団体の様々な展覧会で作品を発表し始める。

マサチューセッツ州で二年半過ごした後夫の仕事の都合で２０１５年１０月コネチカット州へ引っ越す。現在はべセルに住み、新しい家の木々に囲まれた美しい風景を楽しんでいる。ペンシルバニアやマサチューセッツでしたように現在は地元のアート団体と関わり始めているところである。
